My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ozzy~ this tiny little kitten and his Brother Pip were rescued from a local car tire shop. Along with their Mama (Laila). Wee Ozzy looks like he's been cross-bred with a chihuahua, but once we fill his body with nutritious food and give him the love he deserves, we know he'll grow into those ears!

Ozzy is currently in foster with one of our Team staff and we hope to have him ready to fly to his new adoptive home, to start his furever story, soon. He's shy at first but once comfortable, 'super-play'button is activated and he's sassy, curious, loves toys and cuddles for affection. He IS in a home with dogs and is still scared of them, but give him time. There are also other cats in the home which he is very curious to play with.

Ozzy will have our complete Cat protocol :

* Complete Health exam by a Vet
* Feline tests to rule out FeLV, FIV & Heartworm
* Bloodwork 1: CBC (Mycoplasma check if indicated)
* Bloodwork 2: Chem profile
* Deworming at intake and monthly thereafter
* Vaccines: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR), Feline Distemper (FP), Calicivirus (FCV), Rabies
* Spay/Neuter
* Flea/Tick prevention
* Microchipping available

More about this shelter

Two women, one American, and one Mexican met in Sayulita through their mutual concern for the many sick, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and cats in the area.

They began working together informally to rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for these animals. Their efforts eventually led to the formation of Wet Noses Rescue, which has grown from a small backyard operation to an expanding nonprofit housed on a property with dedicated facilities in Punta de Mita. Providing the animals with health care, rehabilitation, socialization, and careful evaluation which is needed for a successful adoption to new homes in the United States and Canada.

Wet Noses Rescue also provides Spay/Neuter clinics in the local community to reduce overpopulation and vaccinations to reduce the prevalence of serious diseases such as Parvo and Distemper.
