My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spirit is being fostered in Waukesha WI

Introducing Spirit!  This adorable sweetheart is a 43lb. black tri standard Australian Shepherd.  She has the BEST personality!  She absolutely loves everyone and everything she meets.  Dogs, cats, kids, EVERYTHING!  This happy go lucky girlie is ready for her forever humans.  Spirit came to us from a shelter in Indiana.  She was found as a stray in rural IN.  Her hair is starting to grow into the longer beautiful coat it should be because of good nutrition.  Need kisses?  She is your girl.  Need a snuggle buddy?  She is your affectionate girlie.  Need a sidekick?  She is your girl.  Looking for love in all the wrong places, look no further!  She will provide all the love her human can handle.  She is just delightful!

Spirit is potty trained, crate trained, she is getting better and better at leash walking each day.  Spirit rides well in the car too!  Spirit, while SUPER sweet, loving and affectionate, could really use some foundational training like obedience classes to hone in on some of her skills. She is so eager to learn and please, that we believe this would be so much fun for her and her human partner/family.  Spirit would LOVE another pup to play with in her forever home or someone that wants to do stuff with her.  She has lots of energy like a young Aussie that needs to be focused.  She might even be a great dog sport prospect.

Aussies need a minimum of 2 hours of mental/physical exercise a day.  Please ensure that you can handle that if interested in this girl.

Spirit is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, negative for all tick borne diseases and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
