Hey there! I’m Mateo.
I was found tied up at a house with my brother Marco when we were just four months old. We were in terrible conditions. With a very short leash and very little space to roam, we were left to stand in our own feces and other trash all day and night.
But we never gave up hope of being rescued! And one day, Jenni, the owner of the Zihuatanejo shelter, passed by us and immediately went to talk to our owner. He surrendered us and we were taken to the shelter.
My brother Marco was adopted very quickly, but I’m still waiting for my furever home. Recently I was lucky enough to travel to a foster home in Seattle and it's been amazing! My foster mom says I am a very sweet and quiet boy. I love to say hello to her, and will even gently hop up on my back legs to dance with her! I'm a long and tall boy (a model, really!) so my paws reach her shoulders! Because I am so long and lean and gangly, my foster mom says I am very goofy when I run and it makes her smile. I bet I would make you smile too! She says I can be a bit shy in new situations but that I'm very polite on a leash even in a crowd and even around my foster mom's goats! I also get along with the resident cat and am very respectful of his space. I'm totally crate trained and house trained and I travel well in the car. I've even learned a bunch of tricks like sit, down, shake, and heel.
Living in a foster home has been great but I can't wait until I have a family of my own to give all my love to! Could it be you? I hope so!!
Love,
Mateo
