My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Julie is an estimated one-year-old spayed female red Doberman mix (likely with lab or pointer). It's possible she could have some Rottweiler in her as well. She has a sturdy build and is approximately 65 lbs. She is super social and friendly with all people including little kids and gets along well with the large dogs in her foster home. She has a playful and submissive personality with other dogs. She has learned crate and potty training quickly in foster care.

Foster Update: Julie is a really special dog. She is social and friendly with all people and other dogs. She can be a little overbearing with small dogs but never aggressive and can be easily redirected as she's sensitive to verbal correction. Julie loves to snuggle and loves butt scratches, but she isn't annoyingly demanding of attention. She is crate trained, house trained, and knows basic obedience including Sit, Down, and Crate. She has nice leash manners and is a good companion for walks in the neighborhood. Julie very much enjoys the company of little kids and is currently fostered with three ages 5, 3, and 1.5; she is gentle with them and tolerant of their chaos. Julie recently got to experience a "volunteer party" with over a dozen strangers and 8 new dogs in the house and she was an absolute champ! While Julie is crate trained, she is also not destructive when left out of the house for short errands during the day, or overnight. Julie would be a wonderful addition to most any family and we'd like to see her go to a family with dog experience given her breed mix. She has had some exposure to cats and was very interested but not aggressive; she'd be easiest in a home without cats but we would consider placement with dog savvy cats or training experienced owners.

Adoption Info: Julie's adoption fee is $550 which includes her spay, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.

Animal History: Julie was found as a stray with no collar and no chip on the Wapato Reservation and reported to Yakima Humane on June 27. Neighbors were reportedly threatening to shoot her. Yakima Humane was full and she was taken to Dog Gone Seattle foster care arriving July 5. She will be available for adoption after a 30 day hold, on July 27.
