Meet Penny!
This sweet, one-year-old German Shepherd was found alone in a parking lot in Santa Ana, dirty but with so much love to give. We believe Penny may have been abandoned, but after having her posted for over a week…sadly no family has claimed her. She hasn’t let that affect her sunny personality though!

Penny is all about playtime! She loves toys, especially balls, and is happiest when she’s running around or playing fetch. She’s incredibly affectionate and has mastered some basic commands like “sit”—though she’s still a puppy at heart and would love more training to keep her mind sharp!

Because Penny LOVES to play, we think she would do best in a home with another dog her size. While she hasn’t been around kids yet, her sweet, playful nature makes us think she’d do well with a family who loves to play just as much as she does.
One big plus? Penny never barks! She’s the quiet companion who brings all the cuteness and love without the noise.

Once your application is submitted and approved for the dog you are interested in, someone will call you to start the adoption process

ADOPTION FEE*: Fees vary due to costs put into them, but START at $400 for adults and $500 for puppies.

The adoption fee is for the adoption of the pet. We make sure that our animals are or will be spayed/neutered, receive the proper vaccines and are microchipped and we cover the cost for that if it's not already done before you adopt.

More about this rescue

A Wish for Animals is an all volunteer run organization trying to help as many homeless animals as possible. We work tirelessly to help these animals become adoptable and work hard to find the them the right match so that you can enjoy your pet for the rest of its' life.

During Covid we have been inundated with applications, so please be patient with us as we all work full time as well and are doing our best to care for our animals and find the right homes for them.
