My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Puppy 1 is a 11 week old Cattle Dog Mix who will be joining us with his 2 brothers on 11/04/2024 via our TX partner Saving Shelter Strays. the puppies were picked up as strays in a part of town that is sadly full of street dogs.  A good samaritan saw them running around an abandoned lot and brought them in to our rescue partner. They are currently in a foster home waiting for their freedom ride to the PNW to find their forever homes.

Foster Update:  Meet Squirt! This handsome one is all about love, loyalty, and just the right amount of wiggle. He's got that perfect blend of puppy energy, fueled by a love for treats and toys. Squirt’s a relatively quick learner; he's got “sit,” “down,” and knows his name. He also knows to take gentle cues from our resident dog (who's more introverted and likes her space). Squirt’s working on mastering those puppy manners — mouthing and pawing are still a thing, but he’s eager to learn new, polite ways to say hello.

Squirt’s also continuing his crate training. He eventually settles in there pretty well With the right routine, he will be a solid sleeper through the night. On the leash, he’s showing promise, and his potty training is coming along nicely.

We expect Squirt to thrive in a household that can keep him challenged as he is eager to learn, is curious, and ready to engage! He’d be happiest with a big fenced yard, and a chill adult dog buddy to show him the ropes (and maybe share a tug-of-war match or two). If you’re looking for a sweet, eager, and affectionate pup who’ll bring energy, fun, and a whole lot of heart, Squirt’s ready to meet you!
