My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other pets.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

A volunteer writes: I can picture Java leaping through the room in search of just the right toy or sitting at her water bowl to surreptitiously dip her little paws in to splash around. We've heard she loves to play, especially with water, which ranks pretty high on the kitty cuteness scale. Java's also said to be a bit of a couch potato who likes to do her own thing, coming around to new friends in her own time. With this in mind, Java seemed to be very much on Java time when it came to meeting me. She didn't feel much in the mood to tell me about herself as she hissed a quick hello and asked for a bit of space. Sometimes sorting through new normals takes time and while Java accepts our attempts at friendship through some pets and cuddles, she's hoping to find a family who has time, love, and patience to spare for a kitty who has a lot to offer but isn't always sure on how best to show it.
