Hello there! I am Taiko, a 9-month-old Lab mix (with a little cattle dog sprinkled in), and I am ready to find my forever family. I have been with Soul Dog Rescue since I was just a tiny puppy, and while my siblings were adopted quickly, I have been patiently waiting for over 8 months for my chance. Recently, a volunteer mom brought me into her home for a sleepover, and I have been thriving! I am doing very well with potty training and have not had any accidents. My doggy night out foster mom says I am super smart, sweet, and love making eye contact to connect with my people. I am athletic and love to run, especially when I get the zoomies, so a fenced yard would be amazing, but I will be happy anywhere with love and playtime. I have also mastered snuggling and even think big dogs like me can be lap dogs! My temp foster mom says my fur is incredibly soft, and she calls me a “dog with a special soul.” While I am a little shy at first, with patience and kindness, I warm up quickly and will be your most loyal companion. I am so thankful for the care I have received at Soul Dog Rescue, but what I really want is a forever home of my own. If I could spend the holidays with a family, I would be the happiest dog ever. Soul Dog is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization founded with the mission to spay/neuter and protect animals. We are currently a small group of committed volunteers making a difference in the life of one animal at a time. As an all volunteer administration, all donations made to Soul Dog go directly to improving the health of the pets that share our lives.
Soul Dog is proactive in animal welfare advancing the need for spaying and neutering our pets to reduce overpopulation. We travel to rural communities on Native American reservations, where spaying and neutering will only happen if it is nearly free or very convenient. Soul Dog works with volunteer veterinarians to provide the spaying and neutering service at no cost to the public. Donations are used to defray the costs associated with medications, supplies, and the operating cost for clinics.
