Bruce is currently one of EHS's longest residents and would love to find his new family soon! To help, his adoption fee includes a free 6 week class/private consult here at the Edmonton Humane Society as well as a partially sponsored adoption fee.

EHS volunteer comment: "Bruce is a gem of a dog. He is a calm, well mannered gentleman on leash. His house training is exceptional. He loves treats and knows sit and shake-a-paw. He enjoys pets, cuddles, head scratches and rolling in the grass. He is also very handsome!"

This lively guy loves to stay active, whether he's showing off his skills with commands like sit, shake a paw, and lay down, or engaging in a spirited game with his favorite squeaky toys. He's also a huge fan of tennis balls and a game of fetch-it's one of his favorite ways to burn off energy and have fun!

Bruce is house-trained, making him an excellent indoor companion, and his foster family described him as a calm gentleman at home. He walks wonderfully on a leash and adores playing with other dogs, making him a great candidate for a household with canine companions. When the day winds down, Bruce is all about cuddles and head scratches, basking in the affection of his people.

Before you Adopt
Pet adoption is a big commitment. We encourage you to spend considerable time thinking about and researching the type of pet most suitable to your family. Most breeds have their own characteristic traits and specific needs which need to be considered. Remember that some animals have lifespans of 20 years or more.

Prospective adopters will meet the following requirements:

- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must have two pieces of identification, with at least one showing your current address and a picture.
- ALL FAMILY MEMBERS, sometimes including family pets, must be present during the adoption process.
- If you already have a dog and are considering adopting another one, you MUST be prepared to bring your current family dog to the interview. This will help you to determine if all family members and existing pets will get along with the new pet.
- If you live in rental accommodations, please confirm that your landlord allows the type of pet you are considering, and that you have paid your pet deposit before you adopt. There are NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES if the building owner does not accept the animal. In addition, you will have to pay all regular surrender fees if you need to return the animal to the Edmonton Humane Society.

If you are looking to adopt a dog or puppy please note:
Some of the dogs on our web site have recommendations on the age of younger family members. These restrictions are placed out of the concern of the dogs as well as in consideration of families.

Remember that new animals arrive every day. You may have to return to the shelter a number of times before you find a good match. It is better to wait and come back again than it is to take home an animal who does not suit your lifestyle
