My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Abby, an adorable eight-year-old, 14-pound Shih Tzu who has captured our hearts since we rescued her from a local shelter. Abby’s foster mom describes her as the “perfect pooch,” and it’s easy to see why! She’s wonderfully housebroken and loves everyone she meets. Abby gets along well with other dogs and fits seamlessly into any environment. She has everything she needs to thrive and brings joy to everyone around her. At night, Abby is a dream – she sleeps peacefully, making her the perfect low-maintenance companion. With her loving personality and calm demeanor, Abby is a treasure who’s ready to find her forever home.

Go meet their pets

Since we are a small foster home based rescue we very rarely hold adoption events. We mostly have meet and greets to approved adopters. On the rare occasion we may bring a dog or so out to an event however we do not allow on event site adoptions.

More about this rescue

The mission of our small foster home based 501C3 organization is to rescue homeless dogs with no hope; especially those living in inhumane conditions. Whether it's dogs in cramped, dirty puppy mill cages, barbaric international dog meat farms, hoarding situations or those living in the streets and shelters - we give them a brand new lease on life. Wagging Tails Dog Rescue NY provides all the dogs we save with appropriate veterinary care, loving foster homes and adopt them out to caring and responsible forever homes.
