My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Jay. I'm a bit of a shy guy, but don't let that fool you. Once I get to know you, my friendly and cuddly nature will shine through. I'm the loyal companion you've been searching for, always by your side and eager to lend a comforting paw. I do prefer to be the only dog in the house, as I love to be the center of your world. I promise to fill your life with unconditional love and companionship. Adopting me means gaining a best friend who will cherish you every single day.

More about this shelter

HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues. HHHS fosters the adoption of companion animals into responsible homes and reunites lost animals with their owners; promotes sterilization of animals to help reduce overpopulation; provides a facility accessible to the general public; serves the community with educational programs addressing animal welfare issues; and maintains a fiscally responsible organization.
