Higgins and his sister, Harper, are five months old. These puppies were born and raised on a farm in Tennessee. Their mother is a mutt that appears to have some Border Collie and Pointer in her lineage, while their father is a fluffy Australian Shepherd mix. Both parents are very friendly and never leave the property.
The owner found homes for three of the puppies but was left with seven. About a month ago, the pups began to get into mischief, which led to a serious dispute with a neighbor. The neighbor reacted aggressively, kicking the puppies and throwing things at them, threatening to shoot them if they entered his property again. Although the owner tried to keep the puppies confined, they are clever and managed to escape.
One day, the owner heard gunshots and saw the neighbor trying to shoot the puppies. The neighbor insisted that this was his last warning. The owner quickly gathered the pups and contacted our rescue partner, Paula from A Voice for Pets. All seven puppies were rescued that day.
Higgins and Harper will be arriving in Pennsylvania on November 26 and are currently in a loving foster home awaiting transport. Another rescue organization took in the other five puppies. Initially, Higgins and Harper were terrified of people, but after a week, they began to warm up and now adore their foster family. They are currently working on leash training and learning to come when called.
These intelligent and sweet puppies will be spayed and neutered before transport, making them ready for their new homes just in time for Thanksgiving. They certainly have a lot to be thankful for!
Thank you for your interest in rescue. If you would like to be considered for adoption please submit an application to adopt. If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please email: dianespets1486@gmail.com or call 610-970-7500
