My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Denali and McKinley! Denali (pronounce Da-nall-ee) and McKinley came to us 2 years ago with their siblings from Mountain Run Lake Road where they were found as stray kittens, hence their names.

Denali and McKinley were adopted as kittens, but sadly, after 2 years, her family moved and dumped them in a shelter. This was very traumatizing for them and, once we got them back into care, neither ate for a week. Thankfully, both are doing well now and accepting pets and affection.

Denali is a beautiful blue (light gray) tabby, very sweet and unassuming. She loves to be around people, stretch out and watch tv or lounge in the sunrays of a sunny window. McKinley is the shyer of the 2 cats. He is all black and tends to stay in the background, instead letting Denali do his bidding for him. They are bonded and must be adopted together. (Special for bonded pairs, adopt 1, get 1 free!)

Both are fully vetted and ready to go home with an approved application. They are dewormed, spayed/neutered, received their FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration (which is how the shelter was able to find us!). No more paying $20+ every year to re-register, it's done for life!

Their perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with a human or humans or a family with older kids over the age of 10 years old. Interested? Please email us at GoodMews22@aol.com for an application or call 540.717.4420.

More about this rescue

Our rescue is dedicated to the cats that have been forgotten - strays that are shy and frightened, abandoned cats that once had a home and are trying to come into a home for shelter, cats that need a little more TLC than most to trust again.

These cats are struggling on our streets to be noticed, struggling for survival. They need our love, our compassion, our help.

They are the forgotten cats.
The cats that most rescues "don't have time for."

ALL cats deserve love.
ALL cats deserve a good home.
ALL cats deserve to be treated with respect and given care.

Given time, love, and nurturing, these cats become wonderful, loving housecats.

Our rescue is for the forgotten cats. In my home, they are known as the Shrinking Violets, and I have fought for their right to be loved, receive care, and the respect they deserve. Please join me with your support.
