Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Henry is a very handsome one-year-old boy who was found as a stray. Since arriving at the shelter, Henry has been affectionate. Henry will become overstimulated if you are not paying attention to his body language. He's especially reactive around other cats at the shelter.
With people working and playing with him (he loves to play!), Henry has made great progress and is back to being the sweet kitty he naturally is, with only occasional instances of overstimulation. It's important to understand him; for example, when he's in play mode, it's not the time for petting. As long as you respect his boundaries, Henry is a wonderful cat who adores humans, craves attention, and loves his food (maybe a bit too much-he has a nice round belly now!)-and he's always full of energy.
One of his favorite games is for you to throw him a spring cat toy; he'll chase it, carry it back to you in his mouth, and be ready to start all over again!
Since Henry is a loving, playful cat but has had moments of reactivity, we feel he would thrive best in a home without small children, with cat-savvy adults experienced in redirecting behavior. This way, he can continue blossoming into the gentle boy he's meant to be. Henry would also need to be the only cat in the home, where he can provide his lucky forever family with endless love and entertainment.
As we are closed to the public, adoptions are by appointment only. If you have an interest in meeting Henry, please fill out our online adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MWHS/Cat). We will review all applications and make appointments for those applicants we feel would provide a good and loving home for Henry.
