Arnie came to Chihuahua Rescue of Indiana due to his owner being moved to a nursing home. Arnie was very loved in his last home but due to his owners Alzheimer's Arnie didn't have a lot of structure or exposure to other people or animals. He has shown some fear aggression toward new people or animals when first meeting but that quickly goes away when handled correctly. He has only been with his new foster a few days and is already very loving and snuggly with them and their chihuahua. He bonds quickly and loves nothing better than snuggling in bed or the couch. Due to only being four he also loves his toys and will happily play with you or by himself. He is pee pad trained so perfect for apts but will also go outside if a yard is available to him. Arnie has the true chihuahua heart of lion and will make a very loving, loyal pet once you take the time to bond with him.

Additional adoption info
**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee ($250 and up), we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption application, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control to complete a home visit.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home, they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.

More about this rescue
Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.
