My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Dragonfly is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 1 year
Weight: 3.46 kg / 7.6 lbs

Dragonfly is a nervous, but highly food motivated boy looking for a safe, quiet home to gain some confidence. Coming to our shelter from a home where he was not socialized well, he has been working on gaining courage to interact with people and he`s come a long way - he`s starting to see that cheek scritches are kind of brilliant and is also learning about how fun it can be to play with toys. He still gets a bit overwhelmed at times, so he`s looking for a family that can respect his boundaries and can respond to his cues. Dragonfly has lived with other cats before and seems to feel safer and more outgoing with another kitty friend around. If you can help Dragonfly feel safe, please come visit him soon!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
