Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Miss Mac came to our shelter from a home where she did not get much interactions with people. Although she is tolerant of petting, she is still learning to enjoy it, and to trust that people are safe. In foster, Mac enjoyed watching the comings and goings of her foster family from a safe hiding spot over the stairs. With some patience and treats, we are sure that Miss Mac will let down her guard and show how sweet she can be. Calgary Humane will be here to help with support as you and Mac learn more about each other. Come see if Miss Mac could be your girl!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
