My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Oyster, an adorable grey tabby with striking markings that make him truly one of a kind. Rescued from a shelter in Asheville, NC, that was hit hard by the hurricane, Oyster has a special story of resilience and love. This sweet boy has a loving personality and a purr that can be heard across the room. He may have a little bit of “resting grumpy face,” but don’t let that fool you—he’s as affectionate as they come! Oyster is always ready for cuddles and will let you know when it’s mealtime with his assertive, yet endearing, meow. He loves when I vacuum as the vacuum is yet another toy to play with! Oyster is looking for a forever home where he can show off his sweet and sassy charm.

At the time you are seeing this post, this cat is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application if you are interested in any of our animals. The application can be found at https://greendogsunleashed.org. If you send an inquiry to ask if the cat is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. We can do NOTHING without that.

*/*/* PLEASE NOTE: We will send you an email if additional information is needed, so lease keep an eye on your inbox AND spam folders.

*/*/* Young kittens will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional boosters and a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing, and healthcare are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter.

Please note you must submit an application, be approved, and submit a refundable hold deposit before a meet and greet will be scheduled. You can fill out an application here: https://greendogsunleashed.org

While we do allow out of state adoptions, the adopter must be able to travel to Charlottesville, Virginia and meet in person at an agreed upon time to take their cat home.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of $125.00 for cats. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes age appropriate vaccines and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
