My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Holly, an adult dog with an infectious zest for life. Her intelligence shines through in her quick learning and obedience. Holly is house trained and leash trained, making her an ideal companion for both indoor and outdoor adventures. She knows the sit, stay, no, off, shake and leave it commands. Her playful and energetic nature ensures endless fun and laughter. She weighs 47 pounds and enjoys car rides, running, tugging, toys, chase, and - her favorite - walks! Holly`s affectionate side means she`s a cuddly lap dog who loves nothing more than a good snuggle. She especially enjoys belly rubs and ear scratches. Holly`s lovable and friendly nature makes her a great family pet. Her eagerness to please and her unwavering loyalty make her a joy to have around. She ia always ready to brighten up your day with her energetic antics or calm you with her affectionate cuddles. Holly`s playful nature extends to her feline friends but she can be a big cautious around them. She is playful and tolerant with other dogs and sometimes a bit bossy. You could always bring your dog to meet her to be sure they get along. She has no experience with children. She craves attention and affection, often seen as needy, but that`s just Holly wanting to share her love. She doesn`t let her past define her. She is a happy girl in spite of being abandoned at CAP. With Holly, every day is a day filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Adopt Holly and bring home not just a pet, but a loving companion and a bundle of joy. (tw 2/16/2025)

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
