My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lyrek! He is a chatty boy who sang and chattered for a long time (probably in thanks!) when moving indoors into his foster home! His name is a play on the word “lyric”. Lyrek likes to be close by, is cuddly and likes to snuggle under the blankets with you. He is full of tomfoolery and very comical to watch and play with. He loves all toys and loves to play fetch and retrieve small soft toys. He is an active boy who goes all day until his nap - but not for long and then he’s on the go again. Lyrek loves to be around his people and comes when he’s called by his name or nickname “Lee Lee”. Lyrek is smart, wise and knows routines very well. He likes his wet food and treats, has great litter box habits and uses the scratching post. Lyrek loves looking out every window he can get to and investigates anything and everything new. He is on the look out for his Home at Last, can it be with you? Lyrek loves other cats and may be ok with a small, calm dog.

Kittens under the age of nine months MUST have another age-appropriate cat or dog in their home, or as otherwise noted. PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO SUITABLE APPLICATIONS FOR SIBLINGS.

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first come, first served.

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
