My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Taylor Swift! This 5 lb., 6 month old domestic long hair kitten is not only a beauty, she's super sweet and affectionate and sings like a pro for her wet food.

She was being given away online for free after the landlord found out about her, but we intervened and scooped her up immediately to make sure she received the proper vetting and nutrition while in our care while we searched for her purr-ever home.

Taylor Swift is a big fan of people and snuggling and makes friends and fans in everyone that meets her! She purrs while looking lovingly into your eyes with her beautiful green eyes as you hold her in your arms like a baby. She also purrs herself to sleep in your lap. When she's not melting your heart with her purrs, she's an active girl that loves playing with her string toys, racing up and down her cat tree to catch them! She also loves snoozing on her tree in front of the window with some good music on in the background. (You already know who her favorite artist is.)

Ideally, Taylor would live with another playful kitten or cat to help socialize her in her new home! She is currently slowly being introduced to the resident cats in her foster home and hasn't shown any aggression towards them when seeing them through a baby gate from the safety of her room. She would do well with considerate children that know how to handle her. She has spent time with a small dog and would likely do fine in a home with cat-savvy dogs and a safe place to retreat to when she's feeling overwhelmed.

She LOVES her wet food so much that she sings for it. She enjoys her kibble if you're in the room with her and after some playtime.

Taylor is spayed, dewormed, chipped, FeLV/FIV negative and up to date on all core vaccines (she will need to complete her FVCP booster series in her new home).

Swifties, please apply to adopt her at lovepawspg.org today!

More about this rescue

LOVEPAWS was founded as an animal intake prevention program to help keep pets in homes and out of shelters. To do this, we offer various types of assistance to pet owners including our pet food pantry and our re-homing service. We help find new homes for pets whose owners cannot keep them but do not want to surrender their pet to the shelter. While our focus is on Prince George’s County, MD, we offer these services to the entire DC Metro area.

Our scope and mission has grown quickly since we were founded in 2019 and we now pull dogs and cats from open-admission, high-intake shelters in MD, VA and other Southern states. This has expanded our rescue to be able to save dogs and cats of all breeds. Our expanded mission is to save the lives of abandoned dogs and cats and place them in loving and permanent homes. While we are a non-breed-specific rescue, we are a pittie-friendly rescue that has a soft spot for the pit bulls at the Prince George’s County animal shelter. They face the heartbreaking reality of the county’s pit bull ban which makes them unavailable for adoption to the public. We are committed to stepping forward whenever we can and wherever there is the greatest need.

LOVEPAWS is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an exclusively foster-based rescue with our foster network spanning MD, DC, and VA.
