Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ABOUT TROUBLE
Does your vacuum need replacing? We've got just the guy! Trouble is a 3-year-old big, bully mix who loves life! Trouble came to HAP when his owners could no longer have a dog. Contrary to his name, he is a sweet and snuggly guy. We quickly learned this guy is curious, playful, and such a lover boy at heart. Trouble has grown quite the reputation at the shelter, as he is quick to make sure no treats are left behind anywhere. He is super food-motivated, knows basic commands, appears house-trained, and walks well with a harness. Trouble is still working on some basic big dog manners, as he is convinced he's no bigger than a chihuahua. He would make the perfect coach potato and loves entertaining himself with bones. Trouble has also enjoyed participating in our Doggy Day Out program. Here's what his friends have to say about their day with him:
"I took this handsome beefcake, Trouble, out yesterday! He enjoyed being in the car, jumped right in, snout out the window. He was a bit overzealous when taking treats but responded well to redirection, it’s very clear he’s not aggressive, just learning manners. My partner joined us for a walk and Trouble was very friendly towards him, as well as someone who stopped us while walking to ask to pet him. We even ran into a neighborhood stray dog running around and trouble had zero reaction and was happy to be redirected back down the street. On the way back i got him a cheeseburger which he seemed pretty thrilled about. He’s so friendly, cuddly and seems to get along with everyone, i hope he catches somebody’s eye soon!" - Lex
"Today I did a DDO with this big boy, Trouble! Contrary to his name, he was an absolute angel. He loved being out of the shelter and meeting people. Our first stop was Petsmart, where he insisted on going up and down every isle. Then we went to Home Depot where Trouble got a lot of treats, rubs, and attention from staff and customers alike! He adored all the attention! Our next stop was Costco where we shared a hot dog and topped it off with a pup cup from Starbucks! Trouble loves to see what is going on and help you drive because he had his little paw on my shoulder the entire time!" - Kaitlin
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
