Meet Gretel, a 6-month-old German Shepherd mix with a sweet, playful nature and an eagerness to learn. At around 35 lbs, Gretel is nearly fully housebroken and quickly takes care of business outside—though she hasn’t quite figured out how to signal when she needs to go, so regular breaks are key to her success. She’s a great walking buddy, moves easily on a leash, and enjoys playing with her toys, happily entertaining herself when you’re nearby. Gretel has picked up basic commands like “sit” and “paw” and learned to climb stairs with encouragement from her foster sibling. She’s a champ in her crate, happily going in to nap or sleep through the night without a peep. Though generally calm, Gretel is working on curbing her excitement when meeting new people—she sometimes can’t resist jumping up to say hello. With continued guidance, Gretel is learning to pace herself at mealtime, and a puzzle bowl would be a great way to slow her down.
This wonderful pup gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with consistent supervision, as she needs to be crated when left alone to prevent any mischief. Gretel’s medium energy level and moments of calm make her an ideal companion. She’s truly a delight and is ready to find a loving family to continue her training and enjoy her affectionate spirit! If you would like to meet me, please complete an online questionnaire and one of our adoption counselors will be reaching out to see if I will be a good fit for you and your home. Hope to see you soon! https://www.fluffanimalrescue.org/adoption-application
