#A5659779 Matilda is a young water turtle who was brought to the Care Center as a stray on October 24. Matilda is a friendly turtle and appears to have been well taken care of. Turtles can be fun and interesting pets. With the proper setup, your turtle will live a long and happy life.
Matilda is currently at a size where she could be housed in a large tank, ideally 75 gallons. However, she will eventually require an outdoor pond life. Building a pond can be a fun family project. Turtles need to be able to climb out of the water and onto an area where they can bask in the sun so that their shells stay nice and healthy. Females also need to have access to dirt, as they will lay unfertilized eggs once a year (suggest confirming Matilda is actually a female). When planning your habitat, keep potential predators in mind.
Age Unknown - Young
Weighs 1.7 lbs.
