My name is Elsie. I am actually known as the hooman whisperer. In just a short time:
1) I taught them that the more I turn my neck, the harder they scratch my ears.
2) I love my food, but if I act a little sad, they will feed me..BY HAND.
3) A few woos and songs are all I need to do to get their attention- they have no idea what I'm saying, but they keep talking to me.
4) I don't mind the vet- it gets me a car ride, more people telling the world how pawsome I am, and a pup cup when I'm done.
5) I like other dogs- but they aren't as smart as me. I knows sit, lay down, come and stay.
6) When all else fails, I just fall asleep on a hooman foot- it's like a neck roller, and they won't move until I get up.
I am the sweetest girl ever. I like hugs pets, snuggles, and napping on people's feet. I miss my peeps when they are away, so what do you say we hang out all day? Adopt me and you can be the Producer of my hooman training show. I'll even thank you during my Emmy speech!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elsie was a stray so we don't know much about her. She's approximately 4-5 years old. She seems to love humans and canines alike and knows some basic commands.
Elsie seems to have been well cared for in her past life. Her coat is extremely well maintained and she is healthy. At her vet check-up our Vet raved that she's the most well rounded, social dog he's met in a long time. That's amazing considering she was likely born during the pandemic.
She's quickly become a volunteer favorite. She would be fine with or without other dogs and with or without a fenced yard as long as you're dedicated to exercising her and taking her for potty breaks always on a leash. She is a pretty vocal girl so no apartments please. We do not know if she's good with small animals.
She would like a home with humans who will dote on her and who won't leave her all day long if they work outside the house. She is not destructive in the home and is a fairly mellow gal. Elsie absolutely loves car rides. She makes a great companion!
Elsie is located in Maryland. We would like anyone wanting to adopt her to be willing to travel to MD, but we can transport within reason (or meet part of the way). Apply to adopt at www.huskyrescueteam.org

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply
