My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Princess Sunset was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on October 27, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Princess Sunset! This delightful little bun is the perfect blend of playful and poised, hopping around like royalty in her kingdom. She brings a glow to any home, brightening your day with every adorable twitch of her nose. She'll happily greet you every morning, especially if breakfast is involved. The best way to bond with her is to spend time with her on the floor, and shower her with plenty of greens and Timothy hay! Princess Sunset is a domestic rabbit and should be kept indoors. The nice thing about having indoor rabbits is that they can come out of their cage for bunny playtime, in a rabbit proof area of the home. It's during this supervised playtime that rabbits often exhibit some of their most fun and interesting behaviors! Princess Sunset will need a large enclosure with free roaming time (bigger is always better) and would love a family who will interact with her daily to keep her healthy and social! When rabbits get the space and enrichment they need, they often form deep bonds with their humans. Come by and meet Princess Sunset today - and don't forget to bring a secure carrier!

RHDV2 Vaccine: Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease that can affect rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $14 for this vaccine upon adoption.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
