My name is Tootsie Roll!

Tootsie’s journey started on the streets, where she learned to trust other dogs much more than humans. She’s shy and cautious around people, but once she’s comfortable, she’s incredibly smart and eager to learn. Her crate is her safe place, where she feels secure, and she loves having the freedom to come in and out as she pleases. 

Tootsie thrives around other dogs and would do well with a companion animal to help her learn the ropes. She’s not aggressive, but she can be a bit protective of high-value treats in her crate if other dogs are around. Outside, though, she’s a different dog—playful, happy, and especially in love with water. She’s a fan of the kiddie pool and would do great with outdoor adventures and time at the dog park.

This gentle soul is still getting used to life indoors, as the idea of toys and a cozy bed are all new to her. She needs a patient, understanding family willing to give her time and gentle encouragement to trust humans again. With positive reinforcement, Tootsie will come out of her shell and be an incredibly loyal companion. For the right person or family, she’s ready to be loved, to play, and to keep learning that a happy, loving home is hers for good.
