BACKGROUND: Not even a week old, Hops and Barley were found in a sealed box inside a dumpster! Fortunately, a worker from the nearby brewery discovered the precious babies and took them home. He called a friend who has cats, and together they carefully bottle fed the tiny kittens that night. Thankfully, they happened to know one of our amazing volunteers and reached out to her. Once in Rescue House foster care, the little guys were on a mission to get big and strong. Underweight, it was touch and go for Hops for a couple weeks. After much TLC, both boys thrived! (And Hops managed to catch up to Barley.) Now, they can’t wait to play, snuggle and purr with their forever family!
PERSONALITY: Full of energy, these sweet kittens play nonstop! Topping the charts of “Favorite Things” is the wand toy. It’ll have them jumping in the air for hours. Balls, mice and wads of paper provide hours of entertainment for these lads. ---Hops is quite reserved, preferring to stand back and observe his surroundings. However, he finds his courage when Barley’s around. A cautious cutie, he’ll wait till conditions are perfect: you are settled down on the couch and the other kitties and dogs are quietly lounging. Then, this dashing panther will make his move, sauntering over to you for pets and cuddles! Nestling above your head, he’ll play with your hair while treating you to an opera of the loudest purrs! For fun, he enjoys batting around his mousey and pom poms. Toss them and watch him chase after them! If he’s bashful, you can invite him to a game with a wand toy. You can also try a tasty treat for motivation. Hops LOVES food! ---Barley is the official leader of the pack! Barley the Fearless, is confident around canines, kids and can even put one of those “in charge” cats in check! Very active, our handsome tabby is always looking for new things and places to explore. Beware, he’s an avid hunter who is ready to pounce at his prey at the moment’s notice. What is his prey? Hops and your feet, of course! Those unsuspecting toes of yours might walk into a su
