Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
BACKGROUND: Not even a week old, Hops and his brother Barley were found in a sealed box inside a dumpster! Fortunately, a worker from the nearby brewery discovered the precious babies and took them home. He called a friend who has cats, and together they carefully bottle fed the tiny kittens that night. Thankfully, they happened to know one of our amazing volunteers and reached out to her. Once in Rescue House foster care, the little guys were on a mission to get big and strong. Underweight, it was touch and go for Hops for a couple weeks. After much TLC, both boys thrived! (And Hops managed to catch up to Barley.) Now, Barley has found his forever home and Hops can’t wait to play, snuggle and purr with his people!
PERSONALITY: Hops initially prefers to stand back and observe his surroundings. This cautious cutie will wait till conditions are perfect: you are settled down on the couch and the other kitties and dogs are quietly lounging. Then Hops will make his move, sauntering over to you for pets and cuddles! Nestling above your head, he’ll play with your hair while treating you to an opera of the loudest purrs! For fun, he enjoys batting around his mousey and pom poms. Toss them and watch him chase after them! If he’s bashful, you can invite him to a game with a wand toy—it’s one of his favorite things and he’ll jump around for ages. You can also try a tasty treat for motivation. Hops LOVES food!
COMPATIBILITY: Hops grew up with three cats and two dogs in foster care. He enjoys kitty pals, and must have a feline friend in his forever home. Hops was a bit standoffish around the two canines, but did not hiss at them; he isn’t afraid of them as much as he can be startled by sudden movements. He is cool with respectful kids who will handle him gently.
Indulge in his charm and sweet personality! Won’t you invite Hops to your party?
