My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Everyone needs a bit of Edna in their life. This girl is 100% personality and is definitely going to have you smiling.

Edna came to us extremely emaciated and with some serious gastrointestinal illnesses that went untreated. After lots of TLC, veterinary care, baths and so much more - Edna can't wait to live a spoiled life as a healthy happy girl.

Edna is a chatty girl who likes to "roOoOoo" and tell you all about her thoughts and feelings. She is so friendly and affectionate with our volunteers, and even quite tolerant of young jumpy puppies! Edna needs a controlled introduction with dogs to make sure it's an appropriate match, but she has done SO well in shelter being introduced to other canine friends. Unfortunately, we don't feel it would be safe to have Edna around cats, rabbits or other small animals.

There are so many things that Edna loves. It's almost hard to believe she is a senior because she is one active and agile girl. Edna LOVES to play - she adores toys but especially any kind of ball toy is the greatest joy of her life. She is amazing at fetch and will often even carry a ball in her mouth while out on walks! She thrives on mental stimulation, exercise and cuddles. She will need a home that has had dogs before and is familiar with the breeds needs. Edna is hilarious with dog beds, she enjoys them so much she will rubs around having a little party with each new one she gets. She was meant to have a spoiled life and she can't wait to finally live in a proper home! As this will be new for her, adopters should be prepared to help her settle in to a brand new surroundings with new people.

If you're looking for a fun-loving, energetic companion who's ready to brighten your days, Edna is desperately waiting to meet you! Fill out an application online or give us a call if you have any questions about her 604-922-4622.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
