My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're looking for a new man, look no further!

George is a very sweet boy who is searching for his furever home. He is a very big boy and sometimes doesn't know his own size! He loves to lean against you and give slobbery kisses while you're giving him love and attention.

George is selective with other dogs, he has made a couple friends while in care but will react to other dogs that he isn't fond of. He is reactive towards men, although with positive reinforcement and lots of treats, he will learn that they are nice! He has had good interactions with male dog walkers so he's getting there!

He loves to snuggle and wants nothing more than to curl up on a nice warm couch with his people! George is very keen to learn and is extremely food motivated, he responds very well to treats and snacks. He knows the basics and has the potential to learn so much more!

If you think George sounds like the perfect match for you, send us an application!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
