Rubiks Cube—or Ruby, as her foster calls her—has the soul of an explorer. She enjoys checking out new places on her own until she feels comfortable. Once she’s settled, her affectionate side shines through. She adores gentle head pets and neck scratches and will happily curl up near you for a cozy nap.
True to her name, Rubiks Cube loves to play! She gets especially excited about wands and tassel toys that let her leap and twirl to her heart’s content. Automated toys are also a favorite—she’ll politely meow to let you know when it’s time to turn them on. She also enjoys chasing small balls and toy mice, though she tends to prefer more interactive games that let her engage with you.
While Rubiks Cube has many wonderful traits, she also has a sassy side. Due to a history of possible trauma, she has arthritis in one hip, which can make her sensitive to touch and occasionally defensive, especially in new environments with unfamiliar people or when startled. Rubiks Cube is best suited for a cat-savvy person who understands her need for time, patience, and understanding as she adjusts to her surroundings. As she may swat at her humans without provocation, she needs a person who will patiently and kindly help her overcome this behavior. Once she feels safe and secure, she truly blossoms into a loving and playful companion.
