My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet D-Day, a big-hearted and charismatic kitty who's ready to charm his way into your life! Recently surrendered to SAVE, D-Day found himself in need of a new home through no fault of his own. This outgoing boy will be the first to greet you, eager for head rubs and attention, and with his impressively large paws, you can't miss him! One of his favorite ways to show affection is by kneading muffins with those giant mitts-a sure sign that he feels safe and happy with you. D-Day is dreaming of his forever family and hopes he won't have to wait long to meet them. Could you be the one to give this lovable guy the home he's been waiting for?

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
