My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kanela!

Kanela was brought to South LA Shelter to be surrendered. Because nearly every shelter is at capacity, many are giving guardians the tools to list their pets for adoption from home, or asking them to schedule a surrender appointment when a kennel opens up.

This is what happened with Kanela, but instead of following these instructions, her guardian tied her to a fence around the corner and fled. The shelter was forced to impound her as a stray when they didn't have any room. Fortunately, we were able to rescue Kanela on November 6th, the day she was scheduled to be euthanized. Kanela is 11 years old, weighs 54 lbs., and is very sweet.

Just days after Kanela became a Frosted Face, she was chosen by a wonderful foster family to live in their home. After all the recent upheaval in her life, we are so happy Kanela is receiving extra love and care in the comforts of a home.

Check back for an update on how Kanela is doing in her foster home!
