My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bowie is looking for a warm, caring foster home where he can rest and recover. This sweet senior boy may be a bit shy at first, but with a little time, he`ll open up and become a loyal companion. Bowie would thrive in a quiet, peaceful environment where he can relax away from the busy shelter.

Reason for Foster: Awaiting Bloodwork

Foster Time Frame: 2-3 Weeks

Foster Care Plan: Bowie’s recent bloodwork showed elevated liver levels, so he’ll need to stay with you for 2-3 weeks until we can retest his labs and determine the next steps. During this time, he’ll need to follow a special diet, and he’d love his foster’s company at mealtime since he’s a social eater. Please monitor his appetite and let us know if he isn’t eating well. Bowie will go home with medication, and a medical consultation will be provided at pickup to ensure you feel prepared to take great care of him.

Foster to Adopt Program: Bowie is available through our Foster to Adopt program, which allows pets awaiting or undergoing medical treatment to be placed with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/ or email us at foster@operationkindness.org to learn more.
