My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Moon II – Your New Best Friend! Moon is a beautiful, affectionate Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his 42-pound frame. Rescued from the streets of Georgia, he made his way to New York, where he was in a shelter. Initially shy, Moon quickly came out of his shell with the help of a canine friend. He’s ready to find a family who will love him unconditionally. Moon is up-to-date on all vaccines, microchipped, and neutered, making him fully prepared for his forever home. This sweet guy is a mix of cuddle bug and playful companion. He adores lounging around but is always up for a romp in the yard or a play session with his dog buddies. He’s wonderful with children and would love a family who enjoys spending time outdoors. A home with a yard would be ideal, as Moon loves to run and play, and having space to let loose would make him feel right at home. While he’s great with other dogs, it’s unclear how he does with cats. Moon is crate-trained, leash-trained, and knows commands like sit, stay, and wait. He’s even trained for off-leash adventures, responding well to commands. However, he does occasionally struggle with potty training. When he first arrived, he wasn’t house-trained, and while he’s on a regular outdoor schedule, he sometimes has accidents indoors or in his kennel. This behavior could stem from his time in the shelter, where he might have had to wait longer between breaks. Our family recently welcomed a new baby, and with Moon’s occasional potty issues and the demands of a newborn, managing both has become difficult, especially in our apartment. Taking him outside regularly with a newborn is challenging, and he deserves a home where someone can keep a consistent schedule to help him succeed. Moon is a wonderful, loyal dog who would thrive in a home where he can settle into a routine and be the loving companion he is at heart. If you have the time, space, and commitment to provide him with a stable environment, Moon will give you a lifetime of love and companionship.
