My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Blackie – your future best friend!
This 2 ½ yr old 40 lb sweetheart is as friendly as they come and loves to play with her furry pals! While she might be a bit camera shy, her sweetness shines through in every wag of her tail. Blackie is on the lookout for a loving home where she can share her joy and enthusiasm for life.
Her adoption fee is $110, which covers her vaccines and spay, making her ready to join your family. If you’re looking for a playful companion who will bring endless smiles, Blackie is the one for you! To meet this lovely girl, give the shelter a call at 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment. Don’t wait – she can’t wait to meet you!

More about this shelter

We are the Animal Control Facility for the City of Talladega. We provide animal control services for the entire county of Talladega excluding the city limits of Lincoln, Sylacauga, and Childersburg. We work with lots of rescues all over the US and Canada. We do some local adoptions but don't have many people come in locally looking to adopt. A lot of our pets are transferred to our rescue partners. We do accept donations of cleaning supplies, dry cat/kitten, dry dog/puppy food, cat litter, and chew toys. We are also always looking for short term foster homes for our pets going to rescues. Usually it's only for a 2-4 week period before the pet leaves for his/her rescue. If you are interested feel free to contact us at 256-362-5856
