My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome pittie boy is named Sharky! Sharky was born to be a family dog, he is an affectionate and naturally happy boy with a friendly, bubbly personality. He’s a fun time guy with a serious love squeaky toys.

We think Sharky is a pittie mix, but he is a rescue so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. We estimate his age to be around 1 year old, and he currently weighs around 52 pounds, the perfect size for a couch snuggle.

Fall in love with Sharky here: https://youtu.be/gIDLNAy2E-I?si=8CJ2mipZeSx3KSTC

Sharky is a friendly boy that greets each new person with tail wags and kisses. He’s a social butterfly with humans and dogs alike! He’s still working on his leash skills, but with a little more polishing he’ll be a perfect walking companion and an excellent adventure dog. Bring Sharky to the park, restaurants, events, and watch him make friends and steal hearts! Sharky’s foster mom reports that he’s fully crate trained and does well sleeping in his crate overnight. He does well in the car for rides too!

Sharky is currently thriving in a foster home with three other dogs! He’s incredibly dog friendly and does well with dogs of all sizes and play styles. He gets along famously with his itty-bitty terrier mix foster sibling, completely small dog friendly! Sharky would love some doggy siblings in his forever home, but he’s people-focused enough to thrive as a solo dog as well. In Sharky’s foster home, he regularly spends time with a twelve year old. He LOVES that kid, and is always excited for the extra attention and pets. He would make an amazing family dog, a perfect “first rescue dog” for your kids to gush about for the rest of their lives.

Sharky’s ideal home has lots of hands to pet him, maybe some little ones, maybe some other dogs. Sharky is a medium energy good boy, he has a little bit more energy than your average house hippo, so we recommend a backyard or regular access to a dog park to keep him happy, healthy, and zoomin’! Sharky has been cat-tested, and we do recommend him for a feline free home. He asks for you to stock up on squeaky toys in anticipation of his arrival, because he absolutely adores his squeakies!

Sharky is a sweet silly boy looking for forever love. Knowing him, it will be love at first sight when he finally meets his forever family. Apply to adopt this sweetheart today. We are willing to test him with anything you need us to in order to ensure that he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
