My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How I Arrived At NHS: I am a transfer from Companion Animal Control.

Notes from NHS volunteer: Meet Rocky: The Tug-O-War Tornado!
Hey folks, I`m here to introduce you to the one and only Rocky, a 4-year-old Retriever Lab mix who`s bursting with charm, love, and endless entertainment. Seriously, this guy has yet to meet a stranger!
Our first encounter was an unexpected laugh riot. He might bark a bit in his kennel, but get him out and he`s a different dog entirely. He does pull on the leash (we`re working on that patience thing), but once he gets to the dog run, he’s all about freedom and fun.
One day, as he was sniffing out the fall air, Rocky discovered a large knotted tug rope hanging over the fence. What followed was a performance worthy of a viral video! With the orange rope in his mouth, Rocky started spinning in circles, wrapping himself in the rope, and then...the show began. He spun one way, then the other, until he got too dizzy or tired, at which point he’d flop down and roll on his back, rope still in his mouth, with the goofiest, most content expression you`ve ever seen. Pure bliss.
Rocky has a genuine zest for life and adores everyone and everything in it. He`ll bring endless joy and laughs to your home. Who needs TV when you have Rocky? Just pull up a lawn chair and watch the magic happen! Plus, who knows what other tricks he has up his furry sleeve, or what new ones you could teach him. He`s a bright, observant pup who lives to make you happy.
So, come meet Rocky and let him rock your world. Trust me, your life will never be the same (in the best way possible)!
Ready for some heartwarming antics and unconditional love? Rocky is waiting to meet you!

Notes from Companion Animal Control: ` Rocky is a very sweet boy who loves pretty much all people, especially respectful kids. No cats. He does well with easy going dogs. He`s potty trained and crate trained. Will sit for treats, but if your hand is empty, he knows`

Good With Kids: Older, respectful children (10 and up) possibly. We do recommend a slow introduction.
Good With Cats: No
Good With Dogs: No. He does not seem to like other dogs here at the shelter.

All the dogs at Northwoods Humane Society have had a basic exam by NHS veterinary staff. They have been microchipped, tested for Heartworm (if over 6 months of age), had at least their first distemper combo vaccination (2nd if here longer), dewormed with a general dewormer, and had a fle
