My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years
Weight: 20.1 kg

A little bit about Bea:
- unknown history with children
- unknown history with cats and small animals
- potential for select dog in home pending successful dog to dog meeting

This beautiful girl is looking for a fresh start after having a bit of a rocky few weeks and is hoping to find her furever as soon as possible! Bea is an adorable hound mix of some sort who came into our care along with some doggie pals. She may do well with another dog in the future, but we`d have to let them meet here first! Due to her initial shyness, a calm, patient household may be best for her. While she does take some time to warm up, the wait will be well worth it once she starts rubbing against your legs for scratches! Once she is comfortable, she is a goofy, energetic lady who enjoys rolling around and playing with her toys. In short, Bea is an absolute sweetheart who belongs in a cozy, loving home - just like yours!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
