My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

While getting Nakiri ready for adoption, we discovered that she has FeLV, better known as Feline Leukemia. FeLV is a virus which attacks a cat`s body systems, most notably the immune system. Unfortunately, the average lifespan of cats afflicted by FeLV is drastically decreased, at roughly 2-3 years following infection. That being said, they typically lead happy, normal lives for the majority of this time period. Nakiri is not able to live with cats who are not FeLV+, however she can happily live alongside other pets, such as dogs, with no risk of transmission. If you have any questions about Nakiri or her care, please feel free to reach out to the adoption center!
