My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cicada (fka Mira) is a beautiful female Husky mix puppy who was brought to the HSOV on March 6, 2024 along with her three siblings (Ember, Nani, and Odin) and her mother (Skye). They were also accompanied by a handsome male Plott Hound (Rocky). Cicada and her siblings were tiny 6-week old babies at that time. This little family was reportedly found in the Vincent, Ohio area at the Barlow Fairgrounds.

This little playgirl has a sleek black short smooth coat with brindle shading on her legs/paws, a patch of white on her chest, a long tail, and an adorable puppy face with with amber-colored eyes, a black button nose on her slender muzzle, and large erect ears.

Cicada and her sisters/brother were raised by their mother Skye in a quiet area of our shelter where they had their very own mini-apartment, and Skye was a good momma who knew when to discipline them and when to join in their silly puppy games to teach them to play and enjoy life.

Cicada has a sweet, affectionate disposition and a playful, outgoing personality ❤

These updated photos of Cicada were taken on September 16, 2024 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver helped her with 'big girl' glamour pictures and a few fun-loving frivolous ones 🙂 This little lovebug has a personality that just won't quit (smile).

Cicada is good with other dogs and also with children.

Cicada was spayed on October 1, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine.

Cicada is ready to begin interviewing candidates to be her forever family. Please submit an HSOV foster/adoption application for approval if you are interested in giving Cicada a loving home.

Note: Cicada's siblings (Nani and Odin) are in foster-to-adopt homes. Her sister Ember was spayed on October 1, 2024 and was adopted on October 13th. Cicada's mother (Skye) went home with a foster family on May 3, 2024. Skye was spayed on June 5, 2024 and her foster family plans to adopt her. Rocky was neutered on August 6, 2024 and adopted by his foster family that same day.
