My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Iris and Ivy! This adorable pair of bonded sisters are looking for their forever home together. Iris is an adorable grey tabby girl who is a total social butterfly, she loves to play and cuddle! Ivy is an incredibly gorgeous and spunky calico girl whose loving nature is unmatched. Iris and Ivy have overcome so much to get to the healthy, thriving kitties they are today. Both of these kitties are so affectionate and love to be held and pet, they will make excellent cuddle buddies for some lucky adopter!

Ivy and Iris are easy-going and adaptable so they would do well in most household environments. Since they are a bonded pair, they will need to be adopted together. The most important thing to these girls is that they go to a home with lots of love to go around! Ivy and Iris are currently in a foster home with adult resident cats and they do very well with them; they really love to play! Although they have not yet met any children, Iris and Ivy would likely do well with children who have appropriate adult supervision (since they are still so small) or with older children who understand cat behavior and respect their boundaries. These sisters have also not yet met any dogs but they would be able to adapt well to new canine friends as long as they are given a slow and supervised introduction. Since these little girls are still full of kitten energy, a home with lots of enrichment, toys, and playtime would be ideal!

Iris and Ivy have definitely overcome their fair share of hardship. These sisters had a rough start to life; they were found soaking wet, orphaned, and alone on the mean streets of Chicago before they were brought in to the shelter. Iris and Ivy would not have lasted long in the stress of the shelter given their fragile condition, but thankfully, these two were scooped up by a rescue and brought to a foster home where they could heal and rest. Unfortunately, the battle to health was a more challenging on for little Ivy. Soon after she entered foster care Ivy had to be rushed to the vet to remove a mystery growth that was rapidly expanding above her eye. It was so hard for the sisters to be apart while Ivy spent time at the vet. Iris cried and cried, looking for her sister. Thankfully, Ivy is small but mighty! She is a fighter. Ivy recovered from surgery with flying colors, thanks to the support of Iris who was kept in an enclosure close by so the sisters could sense one another. Now that Ivy is all healed up, she is truly a thing of beauty! Her gorgeous fluffy fur is full of swirling orange and black making her truly unique! But that’s not to say we don’t also love the adorable grey tabby spots on her sister, Iris. Good looks run in the family!

If you’re looking for two extremely affectionate little cuddle bugs then Ivy and Iris are the pair for you! Both sisters adore being pet and they will happily take turns curling up in your lap…or sharing it! Ivy and Iris are both very gentle in nature and they are easy to hold, they will even let you carry them around. According to their foster mom, Ivy’s tender and delicate touch is one of the things she’ll miss most about her.

When Iris and Ivy aren’t enjoying snuggles, they also love to play! Especially Iris. Iris is so fast and she loves to chase and play with her sister. According to their foster mom, one of the things she will most about Iris is her playful and energetic spirit! Iris and Ivy are lucky enough to be in a foster home with a cat wheel and they absolutely love it. They go crazy running around and around the wheel. However, these two come from humble beginnings and they will just as soon play with a bottle cap you drop on the floor! Although they can make a toy out of anything, their favorite toys include laser lights, feather wands, interactive puzzle toys, and twinkle balls. Another favorite pastime for these two is chasing one another around on the cat tree and keeping an eye on things from up high.

If you’re looking for a truly perfect pair of adorable, playful, and loving sister kitties then look no further! Iris and Ivy are so excited to find their furever home with a family who are ready to dote on them. These two are ready to fill your life with endless love, affection, and playtime! Please contact us today to meet this darling sister duo.

Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in Forever Fortunate Felines.  We are very happy to have the opportunity to match you with your purr-fect cat-panion!

Once you complete the online application using the below link, you will be able to discuss and ask questions directly to the foster parent.  We believe this is a big advantage to you as our organization is completely foster based, we really understand our cats personalities at a deep level.  This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family.

In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here:
http://www.foreverfortunatefelines.org/adopt

Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue.  Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten.

Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day.  Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet.  We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier.  If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day.  If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $10 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home.  We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies.

Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age.  We are able to PayPal or most major credit cards for the adoption fee.

We have streamlined our adoption process to make it easy!  Everything from the application, to payment, to the contract is online.  Additionally, all of the cats records will be placed in your free Petlovers account at petstablished.com to keep organized.
