Hi, I’m a handsome little Chihuahua mix named Tommy. I am about 2 years old, 13 lbs and I was living in San Antonio with my owner when she moved to an apartment that wouldn't allow dogs. She asked a neighbor to hold me until she found a place we could live together but over a year later she had disappeared, so 4 Little Paws offered to find me a forever home. Now I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for a brand new future.
My foster mom says I’m a sweet little boy, happy and wagging but will need a slow introduction when meeting new people. I tend to be shy initially, and reaching out quickly when I don't know who you are is scary. Once I know you, all bets are off, and I’m your biggest fan, and great with everyone I already know, young and old. I’m friendly with other dogs, good with cats, and will play a little with my doggy friends, but mostly I like to chew on an antler or other hard chew toy. I’m sweet and affectionate, love being held, sharing kisses, and gazing at you lovingly. I’m well-behaved, housebroken, and rarely bark unless chaos is afoot or other dogs are playing too rough, so a calm household with or without a doggy friend would be ideal. I love going for walks but I’m not cut out for big city life with all the loud noises and busy chaos. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started! Inquire about me today and bring me home!
* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
