This girl is a gem of a dog at only ~9 months old. She has the softest fur, perfect for snuggles. She looks like a big dog with her fluffy fur, but weighs in at around 45 pounds (she's still growing!).
Fiona came to us scared and nervous of new people, places, and all things big and loud. Her confidence has grown with the help of her foster dog siblings, and she continues to learn new things everyday.
She is medium energy, spayed and UTD on all vaccines, crate trained, house broken, walks great on leash, is friendly with other dogs, is respectful of cats, and is easily directed away from chickens.
She knows sit, shake, wait, leave it, and goes in her crate on command. She loves a good bone to chew when it's time to relax, but that doesn't stop her from getting the zoomies when she's running free in the wide open.
Does Fiona sound like the perfect dog for you?
Let's make sure YOU are the perfect human for Fiona!
Fiona's ideal human will be:
Someone who can be with her most of the time and not leave her alone for extended periods of time on a regular basis. (Bonus points if you work from home! She does get a little anxious being left and will need to continue her crate training.)
Someone who will continue to help her build confidence and teach her that not everything is scary, and also continue to give her a routine and boundaries. She is most confident and calm when she has a routine and boundaries.
Fiona would love another dog in the home that has a similar energy level and style of play. Fiona loves to run and wrestle, so a younger dog would be best for her. Once she has had her exercise, she is happy to chew a bone in her crate, or lay at your feet and relax.
Though the forest is a new place to Fiona, she adores being in the woods. She would love someone she can continue to explore and hike the beautiful woods of Vermont with, and practice trail manners and recall.
If you think you're the right fit, fill out an adoption application at pottersangelsrescue.org/adopt.

Dogs $400,13 mo to 5 yrs

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a “free” animal. ALL animals need some kind of medical attention at some point in their lives. Our adoption fee for dogs includes spay/neuter surgery, Rabies vaccine, Distemper vaccine, Bordatella vaccine, precautionary deworming, microchip with registration, flea treatment (if necessary), heartworm test (if necessary), and a heartworm preventative. Cats receive spay/neuter surgery, Rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, FeLV/FIV test, precautionary deworming, flea treatment (if necessary). Depending on which vet is used, our animals’ medical needs can cost upwards of $500, just for the procedures listed above. Other animals may require dental care, prescription medications or diets, or long-term intensive nursing.
Here at Potters Angels Rescue, we strive to adopt our animals out to the best matches possible for them. This means that an animal other than the one who initially catches your eye may be a better fit for your home and lifestyle.
Our policy is to adopt to people that are 21 years of age or older. This is not a first come/first served procedure as we take great care in matching our dogs to prospective homes. Please be aware that a representative will contact you as soon as possible when you either make an inquiry or complete an application, however ‘as soon as possible’ does not mean immediately nor an exact amount of time as we are volunteers. It means just that- as soon as we possibly can.
After the references have been checked on your application, you can expect a call from one of our representatives as soon as we can. This is in order to address any concerns regarding your application and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have thought of since completing the application. After this a home visit will be scheduled with a representative and the adopter. It is required that and everyone in the household be present including the 4 legged members. If possible this will also be when the potential adopter meets the dog; although occasionally due to distance that will require a second meeting.
If you have found a specific animal you are interested in, please list the animal on the application. If you have questions about a specific animal, please send us an e-mail at info@pottersangelsrescue.org. We will then have the animal’s foster parent get in contact with you.
We are emotionally tied to the animals we rescue and remain committed to the animals and their adoptive families for their life. If there is a problem in keeping the adopted animal at any time during their life, we require that the animal come back to us for re-homing. Additionally, if there are problems or concerns with the health or well being of an animal, we are there to help the adoptive family with the support they require.

Our foster pets reside in loving foster homes before they are adopted. On occasion we have special events in which you can meet some of them.

More about this rescue
Potters Angels Rescue (PAR) is an animal rescue group based out of the New England area that is dedicated to placing unwanted or neglected animals in loving and everlasting homes. With the economy the way it is, we are getting more and more requests for finding homes for animals that are being left behind by their owners due to moving, increased work hours, lack of time for the dog or the inability to afford the dog and it’s vet care. We also assist local animal control officers in placing our local stray population, as well as responding to neglect and cruelty complaints.
Here at PAR, we do require that all animals are spayed/neutered and made current on all their vaccinations before being placed for adoption, which is why we request an adoption fee.
Our main goal is to make sure the animals that we come across make it in to homes where they are well loved and taken care of throughout the rest of their lives. It is a very sad thing to witness the emotions that an animal goes through when they are removed from their family and we would hate to think of them going somewhere that was anything less than a loving home.
