My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cowan is the sweetest puppy girl! She’s always happy to see her people. She’s a total lover, generous with her kisses and perfectly friendly with everyone she meets. She’s dog friendly, cat tolerant, and great with kids- a complete sweetheart ready to be a perfect family dog, office dog, or just a companion dog to anyone looking to be adored!

Fall in love with Cowan here: https://youtu.be/u7rqHi5_8-0?si=impe1sIh2x5t0L1b

Cowan is a loving, silly and spirited girl. We think she’s a Labrador mix aged around 9 months old, but she is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown and cannot be guaranteed. She currently tips the scales at a soft and snuggly 42 pounds.

Cowan has great house manners, and is currently thriving in a foster home! She lives with two other dogs, including a giant breed, and two children aged 7 and 10. She gets along fabulously with all of them! She’s a gentle treat taker and eager to please, which makes training enjoyable for both of you. She’s good in her kennel, sleeping there each night! In her time at the rescue, she spent much of her time in one of our director’s offices, and was a perfect office dog. She kept herself busy with toys and treats, and behaved well. Cowan was made to be a WFH companion or office buddy.

Cowan is very dog friendly, and would love some doggy siblings of her very own. She plays so well with others, she has goofy and enthusiastic playstyle that wins over every dog she meets. Here at the rescue, Cowan was cat tested, and we believe her to be cat tolerant. She could live with dog savvy kitties. See her cat test for yourself in her video!

Cowan’s perfect home would have at least one loving human to adore her, and be adored by her. Cowan could make an amazing family dog, the “first rescue dog,” that your kids will tell stories about for the rest of their lives! Cowan would prefer a home with a back yard, she can be known to zoom, but she could also do well with leash walks and park time to keep her happy and healthy. Cowan would prefer a doggy sibling or two to keep her company, but she could thrive as a solo dog as well! She’s a very people-loving girl.

With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Cowan with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
