My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Deckard is a social butterfly and his motto is “come on over, the more the merrier!” A dog that genuinely loves being where the people are, basically in the mix of a group of people is his happy place. That group of people whomever they are will enjoy him as much as he does them.

It’s a tie for me on what my favorite thing is about Deckard, one thing is how happy he is, steady and unbothered. Second, would be his approach to love, big and so genuine but so gentle. He is a natural cure for any bit of stress you might bring home after a long day navigating the world.

Deckard is est. to be 1.5 years old and weighs 58 lbs, but after having him in my lap I will say, he feels more like 25 lbs. Of course, in rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed but we make educated observation on both. We believe he is likely a lab/shepherd mix but if you get a DNA test, we would love to know the results.

Deckard will happily climb into your lap and then slowly inch his way closer and closer to give you kisses. To say that he is affectionate and loving would be an understatement. He isn’t needy or pushy about it though. He knows the sit command and how to fetch a ball! This boy is a smartie so training will be easy!

When he was introduced to new dogs he consistently was solid- greeting nicely on leash and initiating play. Deckard’s ideal home would include a playful dog friend for companionship and occasional games of chase. He is so dog friendly and given his love of groups of people I imagine he is going to love when you host neighborhood get-togethers, people and pups welcome!

Deckard could also peacefully live with kids too. He loves to be outside so a yard would be perfect for him to play and run in. He wants a family that keeps him involved in all the main parts: kids outdoor games, walks in the neighborhood and camping trips! Deckard would do best with a family that exercises him often, has a big yard and enjoys going outside. He would do best with another playful dog in his home.

Welcome this happy, peaceful, and loving boy into your life. You will be amazed at the ease and comfort he brings

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
