My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Clarice!
-15 week old female gray tabby
-Indoor only
Clarice spent time in a foster home. Her foster reports: “Clarice is our small but mighty kitten. She’s got a kick, spice and cattitude to her like no other. She likes her space, and privacy. When we first brought her home, it took us a whole week to get her to come out of her hiding spot and stop hissing. Now, although she doesn’t like to be held, she’ll accept the love and will even now come sleep at a 5ft distance. Seems like nothing but for her, she’s come a long way. She’s a sweetie in disguise. She just needs someone to show her that were not all so bad out there. Like her sister Rosemary, she will need a more mellow home with older kids (out of everyone, my 10 year old was the only one she grew close to) and either dog free or very experience cat friendly dog. She loved hanging out with the older resident cats and sister. I would prefer she go with her or as a companion for another cat. Just another little kitten who needs a little extra TLC.”

Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
