My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.

My foster writes: Say hi to new your new favorite kitty girl! Nala (or MeowMeow as we call her) is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. Her first home was with a family with kids, so we think she has tolerance for touchy humans and we have yet to see her get upset by much. She has her moments of shyness and likes scouting for new hiding spots, but with the rights toys (shoelaces, pens, pipecleaners, and tennis balls) she perks right up. She enjoys nice warm spots to bask in the sunlight and is a primo girly who appreciates a view to look at birds, people, and the street (she did NOT like the back room in our apartment). And once she has a chance to warm up to you, she loves head and back scratchies (and even the occasional belly rub!). Weirdly, when she's in the mood and feeling especially affectionate, she loves some good booty spanks and will even circle back for more. We don't know how she'd fare in a home with other animals, but her instincts tend more towards flight than fight, and you'd want to do any introductions quite slowly (she has zero thoughts and zero survival instincts lol). All in all, Nala is a cute kitty with her quirks and very healthy, sweet, and silly! She will make the best companion!

A volunteer writes: Nala is our carnival game all star! I could watch her happy, waving paws all day. She plays an inventive, though purposeful, game of Whac-a-Mole stretching out in a loaf and using straight paws to catch it, burrowing in blankets for extra excitement, Nala brings a really creative approach to playtime. Plus, she's just adorable and will take a break by carrying her toys to the back of her condo. The breaks and their cuteness don't stop there, however, because Nala also loves to stretch out for pets. She kind of reminds me of a friendly lion in search of pets, she draped her paws over the ledge of her condo ledge and rested her head into a neck scritch. Though everyone loves spending time with this very joyous gift of a cat, we're so ready to find her forever family and we know she is too! Nala has lived with other cats and kittens and is hoping for a family who will appreciate her approach to play and cuddles as much as we do!
