My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I am excitable and energetic! I will need positive outlets for my energy!

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

I am playful and cute!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

A volunteer writes: This ooey gooey pilsbury dough boy with the two eye patches is Berto. He's a delicious delight of a puppy who is blissfully unaware of his size. At one point in our time together, he climbs onto my lap, billy goat style standing fully on my legs before he awkwardly spays his 60 pound body across them. There he sits while his servants, I mean volunteers, feed him treatos, giving us kisses in return. He's much more interested in cuddling than anything else, and he feels secure being as close as possible to his new friends.

Berto was brought to us by police after he was abandoned in someone's yard. At only 10 months old, Berto is looking for a home that can help him with all the things a puppy needs: socialization, work on basic manners and appropriate outlets for mouthiness. He has been friendly towards dogs offering play bows and rolling onto his back in a submissive way, communicating his openness and willingness to set a positive tone for their interactions.
