My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I have lived with cats.

I am a sweet, shy, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home!

I may enjoy casually batting at a toy mouse every now and then, but my favorite activity is snuggling on my favorite person's lap!

What do you get when you cross a cat with a couch? A cat-potato! And that's me to a T!

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

Tigger tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred AND be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

A volunteer writes: Tigger hopes you can meet him halfway. His stay in the Care Center is only one brief blip in a much brighter life, but we can't say it's been easy on him. Tigger's a very gentle senior who just isn't loving it, so you probably won't see him sitting at the front or purring out his hellos. I opened his cubby door and Tigger sniffed my hand, a little unsure but a lot optimistic, and tentatively leaned his head into me. I know things at the shelter can be a lot and so I was happy to sit with Tigger as he slowly stretched himself out to his condo. He didn't quite seem to do as we waited for me to make my next move, so he sat for pets, seemingly heartened to learn I'd be patient with him. Tigger's trying his best and is so hopeful that someone will see that and take a chance to meet him where he is. He has lived with other cats and is said to be friendly and affectionate. I can only imagine how wonderful he'll be when he finds his family.
